We finally got around to visiting two weeks ago and despite the large crowds, we really enjoyed our time here. The inside is a spectacular sight and a completely different experience than visiting other churches in Europe.

We added the Queens Diamond Jubilee tour room which is best described as a mini museum within the church. I’m not sure if I had young children I’d add this given it’s at the end but overall I’d highly recommend seeing this piece as well.

We visited the Abbey on a Saturday with good weather outside, which means the area was packed with tourists everywhere. We decided to go for an Evensong service at the Abbey at 5pm. There were a lot of people there, unfortunately quite a few left during the services making noise.

The Abbey itself is an amazing place, there's so much to see around and it's well worth your time and money if you want to take the full tour. If you don't, visiting it for the daily 5pm is a very good idea as you can get inside for free, listen to a good service with choir singing songs and you can also take some pictures while going out (it's permitted as long as you don't disturb the activities and it's reasonable).

We bought our tickets online from the Abbey the day before we went. There were limited times available at that point, but that was fine with us because we had a somewhat flexible schedule. As you pick your timed entry, you may want to checkout the service times, we were there when a service was taking place and it did feel a bit odd to have that going and hundreds of tourists taking pictures and circling the room from outside the barriers. It took us about 90 minutes to go through the inside area.

The Abbey is a working building, so there are chairs stacked, etc. waiting for their next assignment. Sometimes in odd places that seem to disrupt, but that's ok, there is so much to see. Getting the audio is very important, make sure to use it. I think the big takeaway for me is that while the building is a beautiful location... it really is more of a cemetery with congregational duties. The Abbey is a working location and has set jobs to do, from hosting coronation to serving as a celebration for weddings and a place of remembrance for funerals. Westminster is teeming with history, it was fun to explore and find out about other people we were unaware of.

Westminster abbey is a must see in London, both the interior and exterior are beautiful and full of history. If you are in London then I would highly recommend visiting. We used the London pass to get entry immediately and without booking ahead(while the person ahead of us was told there were no spots for two days). With that I would highly recommend everyone in London visit Westminster abbey and use the London pass to make it extra easy.

Wonderful, a thousand years of history. Fascinating to see the areas featured in the King's coronation, the throne and the altar. Particularly enjoyed looking at Poets Corner. The abbey was quite crowded with tourists, but could see what we wanted to see and had a meal in the café.

Absolutely amazing. You could easily spend a couple hours here. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance and respect the church as they still have services. I noticed a lot of people trying to take pictures during a ceremony which is not allowed.

Take your time and do the audio tour as well. There is so much to see and it's right next to Parliament and Big Ben.

This is a must visit if your in London. The architecture the history the culture the statues had me in awe I was totally shocked by the experience there was a free audio recording to learn all about the history and about the architecture. This was one of the best places I’ve visited in London and probably in the world 100% must see.

Amazing working building/church to visit with so much history going back centuries. The self guided audio tour is worth paying for. Staff are also happy to answer your questions. Allow at least 2 hours to visit
