Waddesdon Manor the jewel in the National Trust crown the best NT property I have visited. Handed to the NT in 1957 however run by the Rothschild Foundation. Baron Rothschild still entertains at Waddesdon Manor. We visited in July & it was open furniture month. Which meant roll top desks, cupboards, drawers extra were all open. Many of the open items had Secret triggers to open them. Our visit to the house alone took 4½ hours as so much to see. Very interesting. The paintings have amazing lighting which makes the paintings so vibrant. The griundscare extensive too. A lovely restaurant, wine shop & gift shop also a cafe in the stables. Allow a full day to be able to see everything

It is an independent property but managed by the National Trust. Members get in free.
Not an historical house more to show off and entertainment visitors and guests of the Rothchilds family. Many rare and exquisite items.

My kids loved visiting this place, it starts with a bus ride so it is a winner from the start. Has a lovely rose garden, and an aviary also has a huge playground with a big slide. The house is very interesting too with beautiful chandeliers.

Arrived early, used the shuttle bus to get to manor. Had the grand tour of the manor which was beautiful. Walked around the gardens and has a picnic on the grass area which was lovely. Such a beautiful day. The staff from ticket office, shuttle bus, in the gardens and the manor were super friendly and helpful.

Absolutely loved this Manor House. Huge. So much to see both inside and out in the extensive gardens. All the guides are well informed and friendly, it took us almost 2 hours just to look round the house there's so much to see. Booking is recommended. The opulence of this wealthy family is stunning, indeed, Waddesdon is really a collectors house, and the family continue to add to their collection. The gardens are beautiful. There is a wonderful aviary, and a talk about it, and it's birds every day. The tea rooms great. This is an absolute dream of a place to visit. No height barriers, huge carpark. Very advisable to book/pay for the bus up to the house, it's quite a steep walk, and after 3 or 4 hours looking round it's a long walk back !!

At the entrance, there is a shuttle bus, for a fee to the house or you can walk about 20 minutes to the house. The house and gardens are magnificent. You could easily spend all day admiring the architecture, furniture, and artefacts in the house and exploring the garden. Would recommend anyone of all age groups to visit as there is so much history.

Easy to find, with lots of parking.also a bus available from car park (at extra cost£2.50 all day)for those who want to save their walking for gardens etc.
The gardens were really good with teams of people working to keep it great.inside the house really interesting 4 or 5 floors and cellar.

The building and the collection is exceptional. We spent 3 hours just walking around in the palace to see everything.
It is much bigger than you thought at first look. Only the garden was a bit disappointing as the rose garden was abandoned, some plants were dead and the flowerbeds were cheaply planted.
The park is huge and lovely. It could be more pleasant if the garden could get back to the deserved glory.
