The adult entry price of £20.50 made me hesitate but proved to be worth it. Lots of illusions and fun interactive displays on every floor. The stairs were fine as the climb to the top was done in short bursts between floors. I went alone, there were a few things that need two people to enjoy but still lots to do. This place brought out the child in me and the views from the terraces at the top were brilliant.

We went on a Tuesday at the beginning of August (just before the international festival). We booked tickets for 5:45 but were there 15 minutes earlier, it was so busy we had to go away and come back for our time slot. This also meant that there was a bit of a scramble to actually get to the interactive experiments / exhibits. I'd recommend going to the website to view the less busy time slots (usually in the evening). We were definitely there during peak time, the castle had just closed and this is located right near the entrance, so a lot of people who missed the castle were then going here.

Very obscure indeed. The largest and most interactive illusion filled experience I've ever visited... it is also the first but it was awesome. The best part, although not for the faint of heart was the vortex. The mirror maze was also pretty up there, check it out!

Very interesting place and well worth the money spent. The history behind the building and the lady who started it is amazing.
You can easily spend more time her experimenting and researching the science behind the illusions.
The experience is enjoyable for all age groups. Although was very busy on bank holiday we managed to enjoy all the experiences and illusions.
Main highlight was the mirror maze, vortex, and the top floor views of Edinburgh.

Fantastic day out for all the family from age 71 to 8. Lovely views all around the city and special mention for Morag who explained the camara obscura to us very interesting and fun. Lots to keep us all entertained and the kids loved all the interactive things to try out. Very well organised so as it was not to busy whilst moving from floor to floor.

Booked in advance, arrived and went straight in. It's a great place, so much to see and experience, some really good illusions to play with your mind. There are some great views from the top also, we loved it.

One of the nicest activities that can be done in Edinburgh, it’s fun and very interactive inside, and the rooftop view is really unique! You can enjoy the sight of the city from different angles. Ticket for students costs £16 and for other adults they are £18.

Incredible museum, staff were extremely friendly and the displays were mind blowing. Got plenty of pictures of me and my partner in some of the displays, did have to wait for some of the things but that's mainly due to little kids and that's okay. Definitely recommend.
Apart from climbing the giant hill.
