A beautiful place to visit - tranquil, excellently maintained, filled with stunning plants, streams, ponds, and a dam. The foot paths have signposts that are easily understood and also include the distance to the site. Certain areas are wheelchair accessible. The Millennium Seed Bank was very interesting and informative. The gift shop was well stocked. It is dog friendly, but some of the paths do not have dog access. To truly appreciate the venue, you would need to spend a long time there, wear comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared to walk a lot. I highly recommend a visit to Wakehurst.

Beautiful grounds. Particularly loved the art installations around the woods - the megaphones and the sound bathing in particular (though the hammocks needed tightening and drying). Great views from the top of the building (which is currently being restored).

Excellent gardens. Very well maintained. Good plant collections. Good garden centre and cafe restaurant. Many walks are hilly and difficult for hard to walk people. Millennium seed bank fantastic, can see labs through windows and horticulture scientists doing high technology conservation work. So a huge educational experience for adults and children alike. Use toilets before going too far into gardens. Wheel chair accessible nearly everywhere. Doesn't seem to support blind people in all areas and this is an opportunity for the garden management to improve. A great visit for anyone, contact with plants and nature makes people happier. A vital national and international resource.

Large gardens of parkland, extensive walks and paths, (some steep slopes) a lake and streams and beautiful planting. Currently and for the next 2 years at least, the Elizabethan manor house on site is closed for roof repairs. However, they have covered it in massive decorative banners and there is scaffolding which is accessible to the general public to view the roof repairs and gives a spectacular view of the grounds. there is a restaurant/coffee shop along with a massive gift shop and extensive Plant centre with a huge range of plants at reasonable prices. Altogether, a worthwhile day out.

Lovely place but..... £16.50 per adult and £12 for the car park makes it an expensive walk around a garden. Cafe nice snacks and drinks but again pricy. Some paths are a little steep so wear good shoes and avoid warm days but lots of shade under many trees. House is not open to visitors and dogs on short, not extender leads.

It’s beautiful. Around 500 acres. The waterside climb by the large lake is lovely but sadly not friendly for wheelchair users. Although, the main attractions are all well served by accessible paths. No shortage of benches or picnic areas. More bins would be useful. The café was a bit pricey but we’re still experimenting inflation at the time of this review. Sadly, the mansion was not accessible as it is undergoing repair work. If you are looking for an alternative to Kew in Richmond then this is a reasonably priced proposition. The ambiance. The cleanliness. The places you can sit and enjoy spectacular views. It makes for a fabulous day out you won’t regret if the weather is on your side.

Great place to spend a day, lots to see and enjoy. Plenty of parking £12 all day, free if you're a member. Dog friendly though not everywhere suitable for a wheelchair.
