Visited in June and had a really lovely time exploring the gardens. We didn't manage to get onto one of the Poison Garden tours, unfortunately, as the weather changed for the worst. The gardens are so well maintained, and there's plenty to see without it being repetitive. Particularly loved the different water features, and the main cascade is very impressive!

Food from the cafe was OK but pricey. There was a good variety to choose from, but paying took some time as the staff member making the hot drinks was also manning the till.

Lovely garden for a pleasant wander. The guide, Barbara, in the Poison garden was very entertaining and knew her stuff. Gorgeous water features throughout the gardens. Lovely cafe for a drink and bite to eat. We'll stocked gift shop too

Beautiful gardens, lovely day out. First view took our breath away! Nice walk around the grounds seeing all the different places and plenty of photo opportunities. The Poison Garden was excellent, staff member was friendly and so funny, a really fun extra and the tours run every 20 mins so easy and quick to get on one. We had a wander round the community gardens too, interesting to see different work from school visits to allotments. Only negative was the guy on the entry gate not being very helpful when there was a problem with my email not having the correct entry code which was a known error, the guy in the admissions office was really pleasant and soon sorted it out though. Lovely place to spend a few hours exploring especially on the lovely sunny day we got.

Beautiful gardens with lots of surprises. Water features sublime and I wish I had been here for the cherry blossom as the cherry blossom orchard is fab. Cheeky ducks and bold ducklings delicious cakes from the cafe. And the Poison Garden was very scary! Our guide very entertaining. A definite must on a Northumberland visit

As always the gardens are a lovely experience and day trip for anyone. The car park is only £3 for the full day which is great if you also want to venture into the town which is only a stones throw away.

The price of admission is ok, but I never understand why they charge you an extra couple of quid for gift aid, and yet they claim the 20% VAT on the tickets, seems like a right con to me. Plus, they don’t actually ask you if you want the tickets without the gift aid. They simply assume, which I felt quite insulted by.

That gripe aside, the gardens are lovely. The walk around can take you around an hour or so. There’s loads of open spaces to have a picnic and enjoy the lazy sunshine.

The gardens are amazingly put together and the water features are enjoyed mostly by kids getting soaked wet.

In all, a great hour spent wandering around. But the tickets could be a bit cheaper, and the staff could give you the option of giving gift aid as opposed to simply assuming.

Alnwick Gardens is worth every penny. We paid to go in after paying for the Castle but it is worth the additional expense.
The cascading water feature in particular, is awesome. The rose gardens also, and the scent wafting from them was delightful. Everything was well maintained and well organised. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended. A 5***** experience. Thank you. Carole & Phil Washington UK. (June 2023)

A great place. The Poison Garden is just one highlight, there's lots of stuff to do here. Bring the kids or your grandkids for a big day out at the garden. Great places for photo opportunities to post online. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
