We arrived about 30 minutes after opening time and the queue to get in for folks purchasing tickets on arrival was crazily long. Fortunately, we had purchased our tickets online and the wait was still about 15 minutes.

I was surprised how quickly the crowds dispersed and we walked to the colliery first, which was a pleasant walk. If you don’t mind bending over for a while, don a hard hat and visit the drift mine with your guide.

We didn’t manage to get a tram ride and chose to walk much of the site but did take a couple of buses at times too. I’d recommend the cafe near the bandstand for a snack although expect to queue at peak times.

I loved the 1950s houses and can’t wait to see the new buildings open in the future.

It’s the first time I’ve seen inside a museum for the Masons so that was interesting too!

The piglets in the 1940s village (Land Army) were so cute.

All in all, a great day out. The staff were all engaged and delighted in telling the tales of the exhibition they worked at.

Great day for the whole family.

Whenever we're in the North East, we always stop at Beamish. The museum is constantly expanding and has new things to see. There's food and beverage throughout the park, so you won't go hungry.

I would strongly encourage visitors to interact with the folks staffing the various exhibits. We had a great time chatting with folks at the ship terminal, the mine and printing press.

Loved this place! So informative and interesting. The busses/motor vehicles were amazing to ride around on. The layout is great and easy to navigate.

The fish and chip shop at the 1950s town was amazing. Everyone that works there is lovely and really knowledgeable.

There was a little steam train running in the mining village area, that was great fun! A short ride but definitely worth a look for any train enthusiast.

Didn't see everything in one visit to definitely planning another!

I like to start WOW... What a fantastic experience! It truly is a great day out for all ages. Visited with my wife and my 7-year-old, and we absolutely loved it. The actors and the attention to detail in all the different areas is amazing, especially the guides taking you down into the mine and the tram/ bus staff. They went out of their way to engage my my little one and made it an even more special moment. You will need a full day to get around everything, so I would recommend getting there early. From funfairs, parks, sweet shops, vintage fish and chips, bakery, and a drift mine, you will be kept busy all day. You can also return again with your ticket and the parking is free and plentiful. All in all, it was a fantastic day out and extremely great value, in my opinion. Will return again next year.

Absolutely recommend this place for a good day out with kids and family. Lots of things to do for kids. There is a funfair too. Kids will love to see the farm and the animals.
There are vintage trams and buses too which son is mad about.
Ice creams at the town center opp park are really worth trying. Must go on a sunny day to enjoy a perfect day out. Annual multi entry pass makes it even more appealing ????

Fabulous place and so much to see and experience. We only managed to get around half of it. Good accessibility for wheelchair users with a bus that can be requested to take you between areas.
Go early and make a day of it. It was really interesting. I just wished we lived closer ????

Amazing experience for young and old.
Really feels like you are taking a step back in time.
Took the grandchildren and my daughter, they were enthralled throughout and loved the fun fair.
Will definitely be visiting again and was delighted to find out that my entrance ticket is valid for a full year.
Highly, highly recommended!
A real 5 star experience.

Went on a bank holiday, very busy, didn't have to wait long, ordered tickets online which was straightforward. Probably would have picked a week day. Recommend bringing a picnic as queues for food were about 30-35 metres long at each location. Lots of areas to sit down and relax. Staff friendly and helpful, would have asked them about the history but a lot of people wanting to do the same thing. Can have a good walk around for 2-3 hours or catch one of the buses or trams which was very good. Dogs are allowed but not inside the buildings. Pay once and you get a pass for the whole year which is pretty good value. Definitely recommend.
